At 06:00 ICT, Thailand’s Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reported ongoing flooding in 31 provinces and Bangkok, affecting 2,932,661 people in 1,041,307 households. Bangkok accounted for 329,000 affected households; DDPM described its water level as stable. Bangkok’s Medical Service Department said flood points remained and it was coordinating support for patients and vulnerable residents.
Flood Situation Analysis
The Thai Meteorological Department’s 17:00 forecast says rainfall has eased across upper Thailand. Floodwater is responding more slowly: counting DDPM’s area reports, water levels were rising in 13 provinces, receding in 12 and stable in six; Bangkok was also stable. Upstream runoff and the 29 September–4 October high-tide watch may slow drainage in low-lying riverside areas (our inference from official reports). Thunderstorms were forecast for 30% of the Bangkok metropolitan area over the following 24 hours.
Before travel: check Bangkok’s live road-flooding monitor and local authority notices. For assistance, call 1784 (DDPM) or 1555 (Bangkok); for a medical emergency, call 1669.
